Our Purpose
The European Health Data Space creates an important opportunity to advance health research, accelerate innovation and maximise the value of health data for society.
Vivli Europe was established to support this transition by developing practical approaches to the responsible secondary use of health data across Europe.
As an independent European non-profit, we bring together established clinical data-sharing expertise, trusted governance and a collaborative approach to help international health data holders and researchers prepare for the EHDS.
Our focus is on developing scalable operational models that support European requirements, facilitate cross-border collaboration and enable authorised researchers to make responsible use of valuable health data.
We aim to contribute to a trusted and effective European health data ecosystem that supports scientific discovery, innovation and public benefit.
Our Role
Vivli Europe works with stakeholders across the European health data ecosystem to support the practical implementation of EHDS secondary use.
Our work focuses on four complementary areas.
Helping organisations prepare for new secondary-use requirements through practical governance, operational planning and readiness activities.
Developing approaches that support consistent, efficient and scalable secondary-use processes across European jurisdictions.
Exploring trusted governance and access models that enable authorised researchers to make appropriate use of health data.
Collaborating with European stakeholders to share expertise, develop practical approaches and support the effective implementation of the EHDS.
Our Foundations
Vivli Europe builds on Vivli’s extensive international experience in responsible clinical research data sharing.
Vivli’s established global platform and operating model bring expertise in data-access governance, transparency, privacy protection, secure research environments and collaboration across industry and academia.
Vivli Europe combines this foundation with independent European governance and a dedicated focus on the opportunities and requirements arising from the EHDS.
Vivli Europe is established as a stichting under Dutch law and operates as an independent non-profit organisation governed by its own Board of Directors.
Our European legal establishment and independent governance provide a strong foundation for trusted collaboration with European institutions, industry, academia and the wider health research community.
